„Mensch A4“
Bis 2014 hat er überwiegend mit Stein gearbeitet, nun interessiert ihn die Fläche in Bewegung, was sich in Stahl gut umsetzen lässt. Das Bodenmaß seiner ersten Stahl-Skulptur “Mensch A4” ist das10fach potenzierte DinA4-Blatt, 210 x 300 cm, rechtwinklig und eben – als Sinnbild für unsere Standardisierung.
Darin hat er eine figürlich geschwungene Konturenlinie geschnitten und hoch gebogen. Am Boden entsteht so der “Schatten”, ein innerer freier und leerer Raum, durch den etwas Neues wachsen kann. Oben kommt die Fläche in Bewegung – über die Umrisslinie hinaus.
„Human A4“
Until 2014 he worked mostly with stone but his interest recently revolves around surfaces in motion, a subject that lends itself to working in steel. The ground measurement of Mensch A4, his first steel sculpture, is 210 × 300 cm – the dimensions of a DIN A4 sheet multiplied by 10. Rectangular and flat, the steel sheet is an allegory of standardisation. In the sheet he cut a curved contour line of a figure and bent it upward. Thus he created the figure’s “shadow”, an empty space through which something new can grow. Above it comes the Surface in motion – beyond the outline.
